I bought my DECKMATE Ladder in 11/04 and I can't say enough about how it has helped me. I carried a small stepladder for years and had nothing but problems.
Wind blowing it over, hard to climb on or off the trailer, etc. With the Deckmate Ladder I can safely get on or off the trailer because it hooks easily onto the rubrails, for when I tie down or tarp loads or even putting on the side kit. I wouldn't carry a heavy ladder again. If you have bad knees, like me, you will feel safer getting on or off the trailer. No more step-ladders for me! DECKMATE is the way to go.

This is a very good product. This is a true story. It happened up here not
far from Kitchener, in the small town of Elmira, Ontario. I have an older Deckmate,
which someone gave me; it was run over by a forklift truck and damaged. One of
the shippers ran over it and threw it in the garbage, but when I realized that
it was a DeckMate, I asked if I could have it so I quickly fished it out and
found that it was still functional, although damaged. It is still useful but I
need to have it straightened out or welded. I saw the ladder before I got this
one and wondered where I could get one and how much they cost. It sure is a
great companion for flat bed drivers like me. N. Hann, Ont.

Deckmate Ladder is a tool that should be on every flatbed. This ladder can be used in any position on the trailer, on the side or end. Deckmate is very strong. I weigh 200lbs. and with a tarp on my shoulder makes approx 300lbs. I have been on the bottom rung bouncing the ladder over a foot back and forth and couldn't break it. However I did break the weld holding the rubrail. I recommend Deckmate to anyone. This has been my best tool, for my work on flatbed, that has come down the pipe so far. Colin Allen, New Brunswick.
I recently purchased one of your Deck Mate Portable Ladders, and would like to tell you that we are extremely pleased with your product. Here at my company we load and unload approximately 10 to 15 trucks a day, and your ladder creates a safe way for my employees to climb up and down on those trailers. They are lightweight, compact, and well built. Hope to talk to you soon to place another order for our plans are to carry one of your ladders on all of our trucks. I have just been made aware of a new product to assist
truckers and delivery drivers’ easier access to their cargo. This new back and
leg saver will surely help in the daily LTL delivery.
As for myself I’ve been on the road since 1958. I’ve peddled
many a load up and down the North Shore of NB. In those days everything was
hand bombed.. No “Swampers” either. When you’re young you feel invincible. As
you get older you slow down. But by the time you do it is usually to late. I’ve
hauled pretty well everything that you could load on a trailer or flatbed even
super B’s. I’ve taken many a spill during the years some bad, some very bad.
If I would have had access to the type of ladder I’ve seem
today I would be a very happy man. I could have saved my back from being
battered as I tried to get up off the ground.
I’ve seen how easy it is this ladder and how safe it made me
feel using it. I’m semi retired, but still get the feeling to run unfortunately
my back does too.
I find it very difficult to sit long periods at a time. My
days are over for long haul, but a lot of you young guys have got a long time
to go. Do yourself a favor, get yourself the proper ladder, save your back and
enjoy your days behind the wheel. I sure as hell miss it!
